Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Bones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and dark matter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). dark matter told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Bones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, dark matter!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jorge Garcia and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bones looks for a takedown but matter sprawls well.
matter connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bones's hands.
Bones misses with the combination.
matter closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bones to the mat! Bones manages to get full guard.
Bones keeping moving, preventing matter from controlling successfully.
matter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
matter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round.
matter wants to pass the guard but Bones is keeping the position.
matteris looking to pass into half guard but Bones pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Bones is in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bones wants to stand but matter has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
matter looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bones is looking to stand up but matter won't let him.
matter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
matter seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
matter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Bones is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but matter has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Bones is looking to defend but matter has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Bones! matter pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Bones taps out and this one is all over!
