Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Newman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joca Amsterdam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Newman is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joca Amsterdam! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Amsterdam lands a head kick!
Newman is breathing heavily. Amsterdam steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Newman. Newman's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Newman duly obliges. Amsterdam fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Amsterdam attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Amsterdam throws a push kick but Newman slaps the foot to one side. Amsterdam changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Newman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Amsterdam remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Newman is not content to let Amsterdam control the position. Amsterdam misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Amsterdam stalling. Amsterdam is looking to take a break and control but Newman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Amsterdam will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Amsterdam looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Joca Amsterdam. Well Amsterdam has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
