Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Diesel Kone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Kreese! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kreese shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kone sprawls well. Kone wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kreese gets slowly back to his feet. Kone stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kone wants it to stay on the feet. Kreese shoots in and bounces Kone off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kreeseis looking to pass into half guard but Kone pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kone is in guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kreese is on top in guard.
Kreese passes Kone's left leg - he's now in half guard. Kreese missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kone is not content to let Kreese control the position. Kreese wants to pass the guard but Kone is defending well. Kone wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kone pushes Kreese off and gets back to his feet. Kreese avoids the body shot from Kone.
Kreese is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kone's half guard. Kreese wants to pass to mount but Kone is defending the position. Still in half guard, Kreese seems content to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kreese is keen to just control but Kone is a slippery customer. Kone is trying to stand up here but Kreese is controlling him well. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Kreese wants to pass to mount but Kone is defending the position. Kreese thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kone's head. Kone regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Kreese. Kreese slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kreese pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kone is keeping the position for now. Kreese is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kreese scoring with some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Kreese dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Kone throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kreese needs to keep his hands up - Kone had a free shot at his head there. No luck with that takedown attempt from Kreese. Diesel Kone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Kreese. Kreese scores with a jab to the jaw. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kone looks to land a left hand but Kreese moved out of range nicely. Kone misses with a shot to the body and Kreese counters with a stiff right hand. Kreese shoots for a takedown but Kone saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kreese throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Kreese fails with a takedown attempt. Kone with a body punch. A glancing blow. Kreese throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Kreese dives in and grabs Kone's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kone pushes down on Kreese's head and hops out. Kone wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Kone connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. The fighters circle momentarily. Kone darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Kone scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Kreese closes the distance and clinches up with Kone, looking for a takedown. Kreese pushes Kone against the cage but Kone circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Kone lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Kreese fails to land with a series of punches.

Kone rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kreese moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Kreese misses the shot to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kreese takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Kone misses with a looping right. No luck with that takedown attempt from Kreese. Kreese takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kreese tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kone swivels and escapes. Kreese fails with a takedown attempt. Kreese will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kone throws a looping overhand right but Kreese ducks down to avoid it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kone tests Kreese's chin there with a solid looking shot. Kreese closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kone did well to prevent Kreese getting side control. Kreese working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Kone's thigh. Kone counters though and makes it back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kreese should have avoided that one. Kreese closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kone quickly recovers to half guard. Kreese takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kreese thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kone's head. That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kreese postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Kreese wants to control from the top but Kone keeps moving. Kone keeping full guard, as Kreese tries to pass. Kone avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Kreese must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kreese trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kreese is looking to work some ground and pound but Kone has wrist control. Kreese wants to control from the top but Kone keeps moving. Kreese working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kone's head. Kreese trying to control the position from guard on top but Kone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kreese is standing up over Kone. Kone looks to escape but Kreese dives into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kone trying to remain calm as Kreese controls from the top position. Kreese is looking to take a break and control but Kone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kreese lands an elbow. Kone is letting Kreese control him for a moment.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to John Kreese. I think Kreese has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
