Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adalbert Anselm! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cleto Rodriquez! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodriquez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Anselm circles away. Rodriquez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Anselm.
Anselm throws out a powerful jab. Anselm throws a good cross that connects.
Rodriquez swats away the attempt to clinch by Anselm. Rodriquez closes the distance and clinches up with Anselm, looking for a takedown. Rodriquez pushes Anselm against the cage but Anselm circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Rodriquez tries for a takedown but Anselm sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Adalbert Anselm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cleto Rodriquez. Anselm throws a jab but it's blocked by Rodriquez. Anselm slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Anselm has Rodriquez up against the cage in a clinch.
Anselm lands a left hand that snaps the head of Rodriquez backwards. Anselm lands on the inside with an uppercut. A short body shot lands from Anselm as the two fighters clinch.
Anselm scores with an uppercut up the middle. Anselm scores with a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rodriquez pulls guard effortlessly. Anselm has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rodriquez is proving hard to escape from. Rodriquez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Anselm is looking to stand up but Rodriquez won't let him. Anselm wants to stand and escape but instead Rodriquez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Anselm wants to hit a switch here but Rodriquez passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Anselm there! Rodriquez throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rodriquez has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Anselm's face.
Rodriquez prevents Anselm from getting the reversal. Rodriquez throwing strikes here but Anselm is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Anselm is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Rodriquez locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Anselm is forced to tap!
