Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiro Nagano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ricky Carver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiro Nagano!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nagano keeps the fight on the outside.
Carver tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nagano swivels and escapes.
Nagano tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nagano lands a head kick!
Nagano misses with a takedown

and Carver counters with a takedown into side control.
Carver wants to stand but Nagano is controlling his arm.
Carver is breathing heavily.
Carver working away.
Nagano is looking for a sweep.
Carver is looking to take a break and control but Nagano is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Carver misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Nagano misses with a takedown

and Carver decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nagano's guard.
Nagano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carver. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Nagano is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nagano is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nagano thows a big elbow that misses.
Nagano trying to stand up but can't free himself from Carver's guard.
Carver looking for a sweep. Not yet Carver, not yet.

Carver is looking for a triangle but Nagano pushes his legs off easily.
Nagano is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nagano doesn't manage to clinch there - Carver circles away.

Nagano fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ricky Carver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hiro Nagano.
Nagano throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Carver stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Nagano looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Carver!
Carver is wriggling around trying to escape.
Carver is working hard here to advance position.
Nagano tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Carver is desperately trying to improve his position but Nagano has a good base and remains in mount.
Nagano lands a nice shot to the head.
Nagano should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Carver is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carver in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Nagano content just to control the position here.
Nagano is in the full mount, landing strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hiro Nagano will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Nagano keeps Carver at a distance using the push kick.

Nagano looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Carver!

Nagano cracks Carver with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Carver in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Nagano looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Carver is desperately trying to improve his position but Nagano has a good base and remains in mount.
Nagano landing strikes from the mount and Carver is in trouble!
Nagano controlling the pace for now.
Carver is working to get back to half guard.
Nagano lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Carver hang on?

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Nagano working away from the top, dropping strikes.

Nagano get's back to his feet.

Nagano shoots in and bounces Carver off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Nagano stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carver swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nagano must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Nagano sitting in guard here, content to control.
Carver is wriggling around but Nagano manages to pass to half guard.
Hiro Nagano has got the better of the ground game so far.
Carver is trying to stand up here but Nagano is controlling him well.

Nagano seems to be looking for submissions.
Carver wants to control but Nagano is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Carver is looking for a sweep. Nagano is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Nagano throws a head kick that misses.

Carver gets the takedown into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carver wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nagano keeps working.
Nagano wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Carver advances to mount.
Nagano is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Carver looking to finish with strikes here!
Carver wants to control the pace but Nagano is squirming around nicely.
Carver looking to ground and pound but Nagano is blocking nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hiro Nagano showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Nagano tries to score a power double leg takedown but Carver sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nagano somewhat.

Nagano is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Carver is trying to get back to full guard.
Nagano looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Nagano passes the guard and advances to mount!
Carver squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Carver can't escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Carver tries to hold on but Nagano pushes him away.
Nagano working the ground and pound effectively.
Nagano looking to control and managing it successfully.
Carver is looking to improve his position but Nagano isn't that keen on the idea.
Nagano content just to control the position here.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Nagano cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carver regains half guard.
Carver is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nagano trying to pass the guard but Carver defending well.
Nagano is taking a breather. Carver says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Carver has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nagano is working away from the top position though.
Nagano passes into side control, despite Carver's attempt to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Carver takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Ricky Carver has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Carver is looking for a sweep.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Carver walks into a stiff left hand from Nagano.

Nagano pushes Carver up against the cage in a clinch.

Nagano gets control of Carver's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nagano will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Carver wants to control from the top but Nagano keeps moving.
Nagano pulls Carver in close to his closed guard and prevents Carver from doing any damage or advancing position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hiro Nagano comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nagano has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3 rounds of action, we go to the scorecards for a decision.
