Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bobby Bank! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Frank Fergurson! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bank looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Bank throws a half hearted mid kick. Bank pushes Fergurson up against the cage in a clinch. Bank wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Fergurson tries for a takedown but Bank manages to get underhooks.
Fergurson tightens his grip and picks Bank up, before dumping him to the ground. Bank manages to land in guard. Fergurson drops back looking for a leg! Bank is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bank manages to kick Fergurson off! Fergurson jumps back into Bank's guard. Fergurson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fergurson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Fergurson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Bank looking to control.
Bank had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fergurson defends it easily. Bank striking off his back but it's not causing Fergurson any problems.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fergurson drops back looking for a leg! Bank is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bank manages to kick Fergurson off! Fergurson jumps back into Bank's guard. Fergurson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bank is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bank has escaped and now he's on top! Fergurson looks gassed! Fergurson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bank drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fergurson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bank has Fergurson in his guard. Bank wants to sweep here but Fergurson controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Fergurson drops back looking for a leg! Bank is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bank manages to kick Fergurson off! Fergurson jumps back into Bank's guard. Fergurson is pushing down on Bank's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bank is fighting to maintain full guard but Fergurson has managed to sneak the leg through. Bank is trying to maintain the position but Fergurson is very close to passing his half guard. Fergurson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bank has managed to free his arm - good work. Bank trying to control but Fergurson postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bank looks like he's trying to stand up.
Fergurson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bank sees it coming and defends easily.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bank closes the distance and clinches up with Fergurson, looking for a takedown. Bank pushes Fergurson against the cage but Fergurson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Fergurson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fergurson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Fergurson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Fergurson looking for a guillotine from mount but Bank is having none of it. Fergurson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bank has worked his arm free - good work by Bank!
Bank struggling a bit here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fergurson has an Americana. Bank didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Fergurson is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Fergurson hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
