Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake VanVactor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). VanVactor has chosen Like a Pimp by David Banner as his entrance music. Jake VanVactor is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Piper! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake VanVactor! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! VanVactor closes this distance looking for a takedown but Piper circles away. Piper throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Piper wants to clinch up but VanVactor keeps it at a distance. VanVactor lands a body shot.
VanVactor is trying hard to land a takedown here. Piper sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. VanVactor shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Piper manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. VanVactor looking to control the position here, rather than advance. VanVactor landing some decent shots from guard. VanVactor stays in close to Piper's body and controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Piper avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. VanVactor seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Piper is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. VanVactor controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jake VanVactor. Piper throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Piper tries to close the distance and clinch up but VanVactor swats him away and circles back towards the center. Piper uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by VanVactor.
VanVactor swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A big left from Piper misses. A slow jab from Piper misses its intended target. VanVactor has a takedown stuffed. Peter Piper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake VanVactor. Piper defends well against a solid takedown attempt from VanVactor.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Piper misses with a series of wild punches.
Peter Piper is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Piper swings away with a body shot that misses
and VanVactor counters with a shoot takedown. Piper fights it but they end up in guard. VanVactor's corner is telling him to maintain position. Piper avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. VanVactor slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as VanVactor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. VanVactor is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. VanVactor thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. VanVactor controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jake VanVactor was stalling too much, according to the referee. VanVactor throws a shot from downtown. Piper moves away and avoids it. Piper misses with a wild combination.
VanVactor throws a jab when Piper was well out of range. Piper throws out a token jab with nothing on it. VanVactor will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. VanVactor shoots in and gets a takedown into Piper's guard. VanVactor is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake VanVactor dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Piper misses with a looping right. VanVactor tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Piper swivels and escapes. Piper falls off balance throwing a combination
and VanVactor counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Piper! Piper taking shots to the head. VanVactor controlling his opponent. VanVactor unloads with some shots from mount but Piper bucks and avoids them well.
That's one minute gone in the round. VanVactor sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Let's hope that VanVactor has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. VanVactor in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Piper tries to lock up and control but VanVactor gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. VanVactor sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. VanVactor throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Piper has his hands clasped together but VanVactor breaks the hold and Piper is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by VanVactor!
