Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ashton Bell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lucas Bishop! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bell throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bishop. Bishop throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Bell to counter with a crisp jab. Bell wants to clinch. Bell misses with a double jab
and Bishop counters with a lovely straight right hand! Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Bell throws a hook to the side of Bishop's head but Bishop sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Bishop has taken the fight to the clinch.
Bell is looking to break free of the clinch but Bishop has double underhooks. Bell's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Bell gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Bishop.
Bell wants to break the clinch but can't.
Bishop lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bell tries to roll over but Bishop keeps him under control. Bell actively working from the bottom here. Bell missing with punches from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bishop trying to control from Bell's half guard. Bell has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Bishop avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bishop trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bishop stands up and waves to Bell to follow him. Bishop shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bishop was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Bell is working to get back to half guard.
Bishop goes for an armbar but Bell turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Bell.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bishop is on top in guard.
Bishop prevents Bell from getting back to his feet. Bell looking for subs off his back but Bishop has passed one foot through into half guard.
Bell is breathing heavily. Bishop maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Bell could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Bishop has cracked it and Bell is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Bishop!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Lucas Bishop!
