Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Dunham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fu Kyou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fu Kyou is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Dunham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fu Kyou! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kyou tries to clinch but Dunham moves out of range. Dunham circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dunham stuffs the takedown attempt from Kyou. Kyou gets slowly back to his feet. Kyou slips a jab and a cross from Dunham.
Kyou changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dunham looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Kyou working the ground and pound but Dunham is defending the strikes. Dunham tries to bench press Kyou off him but Kyou keeps the position. Kyou lands a decent elbow from side control. Dunham is trying to control Kyou's posture but Kyou avoids it. Kyou working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Kyou wants to control but Dunham is keeping him busy. Kyou taking a break here but Dunham is having none of it and regains half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dunham moves into full guard.
Kyou trying to control the position from guard on top but Dunham is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kyou trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Kyou is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kyou preventing the sweep. Kyou really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dunham. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dunham looking to control but Kyou passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Dunham is trying to control but can't.
Kyou is looking to take a break and control but Dunham is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ground and pound from Kyou. Kyou wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dunham keeps working. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Kyou throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Dunham is trying to maintain the position but Kyou is very close to passing his half guard. Dunham regains full guard. Nicely done. Dunham is trying to hold Kyou in close to prevent damage but Kyou has managed to pass into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kyou trying to pass the guard but Dunham defending well. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Kyou trying to control the position from guard on top but Dunham is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kyou tries to free his leg and advance position but Dunham is retaining full guard. Kyou connects with a couple of short punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Dunham looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Kyou postures up in Dunham's guard and throws a big left but Dunham blocks it. Dunham keeping full guard, as Kyou tries to pass. Dunham looking to control.
Dunham manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Dunham is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Kyou closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dunham did well to prevent Kyou getting side control. Kyou trying to control the action but Dunham is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fu Kyou dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kyou shoots in and bounces Dunham off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Kyou with a flurry of punches that miss. Kyou thows a big elbow that misses. Kyou thows a big elbow that misses. Dunham being controlled here, momentarily. Dunham not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dunham wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kyou throws a big right hand that misses. Dunham has momentary wrist control but Kyou slips an elbow through the middle. Dunham keeping moving, preventing Kyou from controlling successfully. Kyou must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dunham is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Kyou wants to get back to his feet.
Dunham passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kyou! Dunham can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kyou is looking to escape. Kyou is looking to improve his position but Dunham isn't that keen on the idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Feeble punches landing from Kyou - he's mounted - they can't hurt. Dunham thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Dunham content just to control the position here. Kyou tries to reverse the position but Dunham maintains control. Dunham throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Kyou because Dunham loaded up on that one. Dunham scores with a couple of good head shots there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dunham moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kyou has worked his arm free - good work by Kyou!
Dunham in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Kyou holds on to Dunham's head and controls the position momentarily. Kyou is looking for a sweep. Kyou is trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Kyou tries to get back to half guard but can't. Kyou is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Dunham is trying to get an arm triangle but Kyou is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dunham wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kyou, who protects the arm well. Dunham has knee on belly and moves into mount. Dunham swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kyou is now in Dunham's guard. A big mistake from Dunham there, giving up the dominant position! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kyou sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dunham's guard. Kyou stalling away here and it's allowed Dunham to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Fu Kyou will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Kyou looks for a takedown but Dunham sprawls well. Dunham throws a shot from downtown. Kyou moves away and avoids it. Kyou shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dunham napping and manages to drive through into side control! Kyou lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. You can see the frustration on Dunham's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kyou wants to take a breather but Dunham manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Kyou. Dunham is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kyou wants to get back to his feet. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dunham lands a nice short elbow. Kyou trying to control from the bottom.
Kyou is not content to let Dunham control the position. Dunham working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Kyou's thigh. Kyou counters though and makes it back to full guard. Kyou is looking to stand up but Dunham isn't so interested in that idea. Dunham pushing down on Kyou's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kyou can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kyou pushes Dunham off looking to stand but Dunham dives back in and keeps control.
Dunham is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Dunham works his way into side control. Dunham wants to take a breather but Kyou manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Dunham. Kyou not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kyou tries to roll over but Dunham keeps him under control. Dunham not landing any meaningful shots this time. Kyou kicks Dunham off and gets back to his feet. Kyou will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kyou misses with a takedown attempt - Dunham sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jimmy Dunham has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fu Kyou. Dunham displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kyou. Kyou shoots in for a takedown but Dunham shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Dunham fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kyou manages to avoid it. Dunham stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dunham wants it to stay on the feet. Dunham avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dunham misses the shot to the body. Kyou shoots in for a double leg but Dunham sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Jimmy Dunham has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Fu Kyou is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Dunham throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jimmy Dunham. I think Kyou has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
