Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Escobedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Isaiah Cooleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Escobedo's entrance music is TURN MY SWAG ON. A fine choice. Cooleman is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Real Nigga Roll Call. Isaiah Cooleman will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Isaiah Cooleman!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooleman fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Cooleman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Cooleman shoots in and drives through. Escobedo sprawls well.
Cooleman looks gassed!

Escobedo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Cooleman not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Cooleman is working an open guard so Escobedo takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Escobedo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Escobedo jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Escobedo moves into the clinch successfully.

Escobedo gets control of Cooleman's arms and successfully pulls guard. Escobedo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cooleman wants to stand and escape but instead Escobedo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Cooleman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Escobedo not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Escobedo's corner is telling him to maintain position.

We're going to have a standup here because David Escobedo wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Cooleman takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Cooleman enables Escobedo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cooleman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Escobedo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cooleman's guard.

Escobedo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Escobedo has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

David Escobedo has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Escobedo changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Escobedo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Escobedo feints and as Cooleman raises his hands in defense, Escobedo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Escobedo is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Escobedo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Escobedo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Escobedo's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Cooleman working a defensive guard but Escobedo passes into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Escobedo stops Cooleman from getting back to his feet.
Cooleman is looking to control Escobedo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cooleman avoid being mounted?
Escobedo stalling.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Escobedo is looking for a kimura but Cooleman is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Escobedo to get the leverage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Escobedo dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Cooleman avoids the head kick by Escobedo.
Escobedo clobbers Cooleman with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Escobedo! Cooleman is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!
