Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, LaDanian Rucker II! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lang Langston! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Dean Styles and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Langston has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Rucker II throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Langston on the side of the head. Langston on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Langston moves into the clinch. Rucker II lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
It looks like Lang Langston has been cut. A shot in the inside from Rucker II. Langston jumps guard but Rucker II stands there with Langston around his waist. Langston gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Rucker II makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Rucker II lands an elbow inside. Langston blocks an uppercut.
Langston is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Langston breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rucker II looks to land a combination but Langston avoids it well. Langston gets a clinch. Langston is trying to force a seperation but Rucker II has the dominant position. Langston blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Rucker II lands a nice shot to the body. Rucker II swings wildly with an uppercut but Langston uses good head movement to avoid it. Langston working hard to break the clinch. Rucker II lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Rucker II is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Langston breaks the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Rucker II shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Langston defends it nicely. Langston throws a combination that misses and Rucker II holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Rucker II has Langston pushed against the cage. Langston breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Rucker II wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Rucker II misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Langston.

Rucker II moves in looking to clinch but Langston pushes him off. Langston looks to land a combination but Rucker II avoids it well. Langston shoots in and drives through. Rucker II sprawls well. Langston looks gassed! Langston throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rucker II. Rucker II throws a right and a left that both miss. Jab, jab by Rucker II - just one landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Langston swats away the attempt to clinch by Rucker II. Rucker II throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Langston counters with a shoot takedown. Rucker II fights it but they end up in guard. Rucker II looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Langston passes into side control.
Rucker II is looking for a sweep. Rucker II is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Langston off and has taken his back! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rucker II is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Langston has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Rucker II's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Rucker II throwing strikes and Langston squirms under the pressure, ending up mounted. Langston is squirming around, avoiding Rucker II's attempts to control the action. Rucker II throws some wild stikes that Langston manages to avoid easily.
Rucker II can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Langston is looking to escape. Rucker II is really struggling to control Langston but he's trying to hold on to the position. Rucker II looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rucker II goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Langston is on top in guard.
Langston decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rucker II, up you get! Rucker II gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Langston counters by clinching up. Rucker II trying to control the position but instead, Langston has worked for underhooks and has pushed Rucker II into the cage. The referee is keeping an eye on Langston - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Lang Langston will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Lang Langston's cut. That's time! Rucker II's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Rucker II throws a right hand that Langston ducks under and follows up with a left that Langston also avoids with ease. Langston gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rucker IIis looking to pass into half guard but Langston pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Langston is in guard. Langston trying to control the position from guard on top but Rucker II is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Langston stands up over Rucker II, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rucker II has an active guard here but Langston has managed to pass into half guard.

and Rucker II moves into the clinch. Langston breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rucker II wants to clinch. Rucker II misses with a takedown and Langston counters with a one-two to the body. Rucker II misses with a takedown and Langston counters with a takedown into side control. Langston trying to control the position but Rucker II is working away. You can see the frustration on Rucker II's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rucker II tries to get back to half guard but can't. Langston has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. LaDanian Rucker II is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rucker II clinches with his opponent.
Langston tries to pull guard but Rucker II holds him up against the cage and eventually Langston drops back down to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rucker II lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Langston backwards. Rucker II digs a right hand into Langston's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Langston's gas tank. Rucker II digs a right hand underneath Langston's ribcage. Langston let out a lung full of air as it connected. Rucker II lands a hook to the side of the head. Rucker II gets through Langston's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Langston's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Langston jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rucker II walks away with a smile on his face. Langston gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rucker II throws a right and a left that Langston avoids nicely. Rucker II lands a two punch combo.

Rucker II tries to close the distance and clinch up but Langston swats him away and circles back towards the center. Langston leaves Rucker II with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for LaDanian Rucker II. That's going to take a lot out of him. Langston walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Langston takes a body punch but keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rucker II lands on the inside with an uppercut. Langston tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rucker II smiles and moves away.
Rucker II lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rucker II. Langston circles away from the clinch attempt and Langston counters with a single leg into guard. Rucker II didn't expect that. Rucker II working for a triangle but Langston defends it easily.
Rucker II knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Langston on the ground. Rucker II throws his legs up looking for a submission but Langston uses it to pass to side control.
LaDanian Rucker II has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lang Langston has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rucker II trying to control but Langston flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Rucker II is really stuck here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Rucker II turns into Langston and is now in his guard.
Rucker II wants to control from the top but Langston keeps moving. Langston is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Langston throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Langston showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rucker II.
Langston avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rucker II is looking to chop away at Langston's legs. A combination from Rucker II does no damage. Lang Langston is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Rucker II punishes Langston's body with a nice straight punch.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Lang Langston. I've got Langston winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
