PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ryder Eipper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franklin Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eipper comes into the arena with I Got A Feeling blaring out of the sound system. Jackson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Franklin's Theme Song kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eipper misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Eipper as he jumps to the side.
Eipper steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Jackson. That one must have hurt.

Eipper drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jackson is trying to control the position but Eipper postures up.

Eipper avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Eipper avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Eipper gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Eipper decides to stand back up. Eipper steps back and let's Jackson get back to his feet.
Jackson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

A punch lands to the side of Jackson 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Eipper is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jackson.

Jackson misses with a looping left.

Eipper closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jackson quickly recovers to half guard.

Eipper is in close to Jackson's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jackson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jackson is thwarting Eipper's attempts to control the position.
Jackson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Eipper's head.

Eipper is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

A head punch on the inside from Jackson fails to land.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jackson lands an elbow inside that Eipper shrugs off.
Eipper's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Eipper blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Jackson keeps control of Eipper as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryder Eipper dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Eipper throws a series of punches but Jackson moves out of range.
Jackson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Jackson misses with a series of wild punches.
Jackson shoots in and drives through. Eipper sprawls well.
Eipper doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Jackson counters with a single leg into guard. Eipper didn't expect that.

Jackson drops back looking for a leg! Eipper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Eipper manages to kick Jackson off! Jackson jumps back into Eipper's guard.

Eipper kicks Jackson off and gets to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Eipper cracks Jackson with a big right hand but Jackson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Eipper lands a strong strike to the head of Jackson. That's dazed him! Eipper looking to finish here. Jackson is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Eipper lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
