Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tim Taylor! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Dickson! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Dickson moves into the clinch. Dickson misses with a knee to the head. Dickson breaks from the clinch.
Taylor just misses with a punch to the body.
Dickson tries to clinch up. A head kick misses from Taylor. Dickson tries to clinch but Taylor moves out of range. Taylor takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Taylor shoots in for a double leg but Dickson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Dickson rushes Taylor and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Taylor tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dickson just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Taylor. That's going to take a lot out of him. Knees to the body from Dickson.

Taylor pulls guard effortlessly. Dickson being controlled here momentarily. Dickson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Taylor is trying to control the position but Dickson postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Taylor working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dickson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dickson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Taylor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dickson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Taylor controls Dickson momentarily but Dickson frees himself. Taylor escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dickson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Dickson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taylor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Taylor is breathing heavily. Taylor is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dickson is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dickson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Dickson tries to clinch there but Taylor circles away.

Brian Dickson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dickson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nice takedown defense from Dickson. No joy for Taylor on that attempt. Dickson wants to clinch up but Taylor keeps it at a distance. Taylor closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dickson circles away. Dickson closes the distance and clinches. Dickson breaks the clinch.

Taylor shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dickson as he avoids it easily. Taylor chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dickson can pounce on him.

Taylor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dickson pinned against the cage. Dickson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Dickson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

He's got hold of a leg but Dickson swivels and escapes. Dickson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Come on Dickson - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
