Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ronald Mashburn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kev Richards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mashburn's entrance music is Darkest Hour-Convalescence. A fine choice. Richards is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: "Bad Things" by Jace Everett. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ronald Mashburn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kev Richards!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mashburn shoots in for a double leg but Richards sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Richards bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mashburn wants to control but Richards postures up.
Mashburn tries to buck Richards off but Richards is having none of it.
Richards looking to control but instead Mashburn has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Richards is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Richards drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mashburn looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mashburn looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mashburn!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Richards stops Mashburn from passing to mount.

Mashburn goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Richards turns into him and now he's in Mashburn's guard.

Mashburn could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Richards is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Mashburn can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Richards is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Mashburn can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ronald Mashburn will probably get the nod.

Richards escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mashburn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mashburn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Richards swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well Richards has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
