Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alonzo Castello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alistair Overeem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alistair Overeem!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Castello has closed the distance and engaged Overeem in a clinch.

Castello pulls guard effortlessly.

Castello has his foot on Overeem's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Overeem works his way back into a safe position though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Overeem perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Overeem seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Castello could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

and Overeem counters with a three punch combo that has Castello backing up. Castello nods at Overeem to acknowledge the strikes.

Castello wants to control but Overeem is keeping busy.
Overeem is controlling the pace.
Castello tries to get to full guard but Overeem has control of the leg.

Alistair Overeem showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Castello takes a head kick and keeps coming.

and Overeem counters by clinching up.

Overeem looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Castello with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Castello tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Overeem makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Overeem not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Alistair Overeem.

Overeem shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Overeem gets to his feet - Castello follows without any prompting.
Castello closes the distance looking to clinch

and Overeem counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Castello is trying to stand up here but Overeem is controlling him well.

Overeem is nestled in close to Castello, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Overeem is looking for a kimura but Castello is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Overeem to get the leverage.
Castello tries to kick Overeem off but Overeem keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Overeem is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Castello!
Castello tries to reverse the position but Overeem maintains control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Overeem tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Castello tries to hold on but Overeem postures up.

Overeem working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Overeem is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Castello can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alistair Overeem comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Overeem has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
