Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anderson Sebastiao Cardoso! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Victor Romero! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romero tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Cardoso manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Romero closes the distance and clinches up with Cardoso, looking for a takedown. Romero pushes Cardoso against the cage but Cardoso circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Romero throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Romero fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Cardoso scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Romero tries to bench press Cardoso off him but Cardoso keeps the position. Romero is letting Cardoso control him for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romero is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Cardoso is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Romero is trying to escape the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. BOOM! Cardoso connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Romero tries to hold on but Cardoso pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anderson Sebastiao Cardoso dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Romero misses with a few strikes there.
Romero tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Romero shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Cardoso counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Romero! Cardoso looking to control and managing it successfully. Romero is just holding on here. Cardoso manages to take his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero wants to control his opponent's hands but Cardoso gets his hands free.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cardoso looking to break Romero's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Romero remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Cardoso will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Romero breaks Cardoso's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Romero tries to free his leg and advance position but Cardoso is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romero drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cardoso dives on top into guard. Romero working for submissions but it's allowed Cardoso to get to half guard.
Romero has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Cardoso escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Cardoso!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cardoso tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cardoso has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Romero has his takedown stuffed and Cardoso counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Romero! Romero tries to improve his position but Cardoso has taken his back! Cardoso has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Romero tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Cardoso pushes Romero away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
