Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Silver Surfer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sancho Pancha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silver Surfer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Silver Surfer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sancho Pancha!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Surfer drives through with a takedown into guard.

Pancha is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Surfer defends well.
Surfer is pushing down on Pancha's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pancha is fighting to maintain full guard but Surfer has managed to sneak the leg through.

Pancha is looking to improve his position.
Pancha is refusing to be controlled, as Surfer sits in half guard.
Surfer trying to control the pace.
Surfer landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Pancha is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Surfer's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Surfer's back!

Pancha has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Surfer has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Surfer is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Surfer defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

Pancha seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Surfer's chin but Surfer turns very nicely into Pancha's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Surfer.

Pancha is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Surfer is aware though and is defending well.
Surfer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Pancha is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Surfer defends well.

Pancha isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Surfer stacks Pancha on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Surfer!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Pancha prevents Surfer from moving into mount.

Surfer is looking to take a break and control but Pancha is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pancha stops Surfer from passing to mount.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Pancha is looking to regain half guard here but Surfer keeps moving and retains side control.

Surfer looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Pancha misses with a strike from the bottom.
Surfer is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Pancha's shoulder. That is not cool.

Surfer wants to control but Pancha is keeping him busy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Surfer trying to control the position but Pancha is working away.
Pancha tries to bench press Surfer off him but Surfer keeps the position.
Surfer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pancha keeps working.

Pancha manages to work his way to half guard, despite Surfer's best efforts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silver Surfer dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Surfer tries to clinch up but Pancha circles away and keeps his distance.
Surfer throws a right and a left that Pancha avoids nicely.
Pancha misses with a double jab

and Surfer counters by moving into the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Surfer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Pancha fails to pull guard.
Surfer digs a right hand underneath Pancha's ribcage. Pancha let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Surfer lands a body punch in the clinch.

Surfer presses Pancha against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Surfer lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Surfer controlling the action here for a moment.
Surfer gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Pancha is breathing heavily.
A left hand lands to the body for Surfer.
Surfer lands with a short shot to the head.
Surfer working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Surfer lands a right hand.

Surfer lands a hook that snaps the head of Pancha backwards.
A short body shot lands from Surfer as the two fighters clinch.
Surfer slows down the pace here.
Surfer presses Pancha against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Surfer.

Surfer gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Surfer scoring with some ground and pound.
Surfer is in close to Pancha's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Surfer postures up and lands a big shot to Pancha's brow.
Surfer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Pancha is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Surfer seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Surfer scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Surfer's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Pancha is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Surfer defends well.
Surfer is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pancha has his foot on Surfer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Surfer works his way back into a safe position though.

Surfer keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pancha's head.

Surfer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Surfer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pancha is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Pancha tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Surfer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Check out the look on Surfer's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Surfer manages to reverse the position and now he's in Pancha's guard. Nice work there by Surfer.

Pancha is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Surfer decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Pancha has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
A low kick from Pancha is predictable there

and Surfer counters by moving into the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Surfer scores with a nice short uppercut.
Surfer keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Pancha's efforts to push away.
Surfer presses Pancha against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Surfer digs a right hand underneath Pancha's ribcage. Pancha let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Surfer slows down the pace here.
Pancha is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Surfer pulls him back up using the underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silver Surfer dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Pancha gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Surfer takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Surfer seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pancha does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Surfer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pancha with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Surfer tries to stand and escape but Pancha is controlling the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Pancha is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Surfer is tapping! Great win for Pancha!
