Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dallas Hall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rafhael Angeles! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hall shoots for a double leg takedown but Angeles sprawls well. He's pushed Hall's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Hall scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Angeles looking for submissions off his back. Angeles actively working from the bottom here. Angeles is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hall pulls his head out easily. Hall closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hall lands in his opponent's guard. Hall landing some decent shots from guard. Hall landing with the ground and pound. Hall got a little sloppy there for a moment and Angeles has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dallas Hall. Hall bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Angeles tries to bench press Hall off him but Hall keeps the position. Hall passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Angeles! Hall is landing with some decent strikes but Angeles is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Hall lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Hall misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dallas Hall. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hall throws a right and a left that Angeles avoids nicely. Angeles closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hall did well to prevent Angeles getting side control. Angeles prevents Hall from standing back up.
Angeles is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hall is just riding it out for now. Angeles eventually gives up the hold. Angeles is working for a submission of some sort.

Angeles wants to advance to full mount but Hall doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Hall on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hall tries to get out of the position. Angeles drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hall manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Angeles has Hall in his guard. Hall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Angeles swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dallas Hall is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Angeles is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hall defends well. Hall stands and throws Angeles's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Angeles tries to buck Hall off but Hall is having none of it. A lull in the action here as Hall stalls from top position. Angeles is positioning himself to get back to half guard. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dallas Hall. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hall, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
