PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rob Gurgel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Trainner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trainner comes into a darkened arena with his song building. War is my destiny kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rob Gurgel has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hugo Trainner!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trainner slaps away a takedown attempt from Gurgel, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gurgel looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Trainner stuffs the takedown.
Trainner ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gurgel moves away.
Trainner thows a body shot but no joy.
Trainner stuns Gurgel with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Gurgel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Trainner.

Trainner shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gurgel manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Trainner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gurgel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gurgel has momentary wrist control but Trainner slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trainner stands up over Gurgel, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Trainner keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gurgel's head.

Trainner makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hugo Trainner dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Trainner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Trainner creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Oh Gurgel is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Trainner scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Gurgel is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Trainner can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hugo Trainner!
