Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Justin Angle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Macdonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Angle comes into the arena with Domination blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Justin Angle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Macdonald! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Macdonald throws a head kick but Angle moves out of range.
Macdonald looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Angle moves out of range as Macdonald throws a body kick.
Angle keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Macdonald. Macdonald takes one to the chin there. Angle fails to land with a series of punches.
Angle lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Angle is looking to score with low kicks. Angle tries to close the distance and clinch but Macdonald swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A slapping leg kick lands for Macdonald.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Angle. Macdonald looks to clinch and Angle counters with a shoot takedown. Macdonald fights it but they end up in guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Angle gets to his feet - Macdonald follows without any prompting. Angle misses with a few strikes there.

It looks like Andrew Macdonald has been cut. Macdonald stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Macdonald wants it to stay on the feet. Angle throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Macdonald. Macdonald is looking to clinch. Angle misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Angle tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Macdonald is able to avoid easily. Angle misses with a wild body shot. Angle changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Macdonald looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Macdonald is working to avoid the ground and pound but Angle connects with a decent elbow. Angle has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Macdonald throws a head kick but Angle moves out of range.
Angle gets the takedown into side control. Angle throwing shots but missing, from side control. Angle tries to stand but Macdonald is controlling his head. Macdonald manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Angle tries to get out of the position. Angle is trying to stand back up but Macdonald is controlling him

Macdonald decides to stand up. Andrew Macdonald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Macdonald avoids a kick to the body.
Angle misses with a takedown attempt - Macdonald sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Macdonald tries to clinch and Angle counters with a straight right hand. Angle scores with a one two! Macdonald had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Angle throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Angle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Macdonald pinned against the cage. Macdonald gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Angle moves into the clinch. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Angle. Angle is trying to maintain a safe position but Macdonald gets an underhook and turns Angle into the cage. Angle stalling the fight.
Angle is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Macdonald is defending well for now. Angle drags the fight down to the ground.
Macdonald wants to stand but Angle is controlling his posture from full guard. Angle managing to control the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Angle keeping moving, preventing Macdonald from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Macdonald checks the leg kick. A combination from Angle does no damage. Angle connects with a looping right hand.
Angle tries to score with a low kick but Macdonald moves his leg out of the way. Macdonald fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Angle. Angle lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Macdonald backs up against the cage.
Angle has taken the fight to the clinch.
Angle is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Angle has had enough of the clinch but Macdonald keeps him there for the moment. Angle works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Angle with a flurry of punches that miss. Angle trying to stand up but can't free himself from Macdonald's guard. Macdonald is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Angle gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Angle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Macdonald to the mat! Macdonald manages to get full guard. Macdonald looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Angle stands up and waves to Macdonald to follow him. Angle connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Angle lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Macdonald pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Macdonald gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Justin Angle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Macdonald stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Macdonald wants it to stay on the feet. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Angle swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Macdonald is looking to slow Angle down with leg kicks. Angle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Macdonald circles away quickly and effectively. Angle cracks a nice hook into Macdonald's ribs. Angle takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Macdonald with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Angle to score with a decent uppercut. Macdonald throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Angle will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Macdonald clinches but Angle breaks the clinch and Angle counters with a one-two to the body. Macdonald lands with a slapping head kick. Angle throws a right and a left that Macdonald avoids nicely. Angle misses with a leg kick and Macdonald counters with a one-two to the body. Angle dives in and grabs Macdonald's left leg, looking for a takedown. Macdonald pushes down on Angle's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Justin Angle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Angle wants to clinch up but Macdonald keeps it at a distance. Macdonald lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Macdonald throws a head kick that misses. Macdonald needs to keep his hands up - Angle had a free shot at his head there. Angle goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Angle clinches up against the cage.

Angle is looking to control Macdonald's arms but Macdonald gets an underhook and turns him. Now Angle has his back to the cage. Angle tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Angle is trying to break free. Angle jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Macdonald walks away with a smile on his face. Angle gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Angle changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Macdonald tries to avoid it but Angle manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Macdonald to the ground. Macdonald escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Angle wants to clinch up but Macdonald keeps it at a distance. Macdonald loads up on a big right hand but Angle slips the punch. Macdonald looks to land a body kick but Angle moved away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Angle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Angle shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Macdonald as he jumps to the side. A head kick from Angle lands but Macdonald takes it in his stride. A combination from Angle does no damage. Macdonald throws a sloppy head kick and Angle moves out of range easily. Angle throws a right and a left that Macdonald avoids nicely. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Macdonald goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Angle dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Macdonald. That did some damage! Angle shoots in for a takedown but Macdonald shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Justin Angle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Macdonald clinches with his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice right hand lands inside from Angle. Angle manages to break the clinch.
Angle instigates a clinch. Angle is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Macdonald can do to turn this around? Macdonald missing with knees to the body.
Angle tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Macdonald just stands there and leans against the cage. Angle looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Angle working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Macdonald. Angle is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Macdonald stands up from Angle's guard - Macdonald perhaps looking for a knockout. Angle shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Macdonald manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. That's three minutes gone in the round. Angle trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Angle postures up in Macdonald's guard and throws a big left but Macdonald blocks it. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Angle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Angle trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Angle loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Angle is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Angle with a hook.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Angle scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Macdonald keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Angle rushes Macdonald and presses him up against the cage. Angle missing with knees to the body.
Angle effectively controlling the action here. Angle goes for a takedown attempt but Macdonald pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Angle lands with a right hand. Angle throws a front kick aimed at Macdonald's knee but Macdonald avoids it well. Macdonald throws a leg kick which misses Angle's front leg but catches the back leg as Angle tries to avoid it. Macdonald takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Macdonald. Angle decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Macdonald looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. And that's the end of the fight! Justin Angle showed his dominance in that final round. Well Angle has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
