Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ilan Rotberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stan Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stan Marsh! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rotberg with a body punch. A glancing blow. Marsh checks a leg kick nicely. Rotberg thows a left - swing and a miss! Rotberg ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marsh moves away. Rotberg waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Marsh. Marsh steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rotberg. A shot to the liver by Rotberg. Beautiful body shot. Rotberg throws a left that rocks Marsh and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Rotberg dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Marsh regain composure!

It looks like Stan Marsh has been cut. Marsh looks gassed! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rotberg advances to mount. Marsh is still in real trouble! Can Rotberg finish him? Rotberg tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Marsh seems to have recovered his senses. Rotberg trying to control but he's not successful this time. Rotberg thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rotberg looking to control but Marsh is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rotberg is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Marsh to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Marsh shrugs it off. Rotberg wants to control the pace but Marsh is squirming around nicely. Marsh holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Rotberg tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Rotberg controlling from the full mount. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Marsh can do anything to dispel that myth. Rotberg seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Marsh for as long as he can get away with. Rotberg pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rotberg can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Marsh is looking to escape. Rotberg controlling from mount. Rotberg has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Rotberg has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Rotberg misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Rotberg wants to finish this one by submission but Marsh is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Rotberg.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rotberg takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Rotberg lands a heavy elbow. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Poor strikes thrown by Rotberg there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Marsh is bucking up trying to escape but Rotberg cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Rotberg scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Marsh moves away from the strike by Rotberg. Marsh displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rotberg throws out the jab. Marsh looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Marsh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rotberg. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rotberg pulls Marsh in to control the position. Rotberg has his feet on Marsh's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Marsh fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rotberg throws a leg kick but Marsh sees it coming and moves out of range. Rotberg misses with a low kick. Rotberg misses with a body shot.
Marsh is breathing heavily. Rotberg scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Marsh doesn't seem bothered though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rotberg lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Marsh circles away quickly and effectively. Rotberg throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Ilan Rotberg is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rotberg throws a looping overhand right but Marsh ducks down to avoid it. Rotberg throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rotberg connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Rotberg connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Rotberg moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Marsh goes down! Can Rotberg finish him!? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rotberg not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Rotberg wants to pass the guard but Marsh is keeping the position. Rotberg working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Marsh's head. Marsh wants to get back to his feet but Rotberg is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
