PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adam Murth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian McPherson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murth comes to the cage accompanied by Enemy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Murth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ian McPherson!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Murth does it's job there.
Murth ducks down and throws a hook to the body but McPherson moves away.
Murth throws a nice looking combination but McPherson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
McPherson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
McPherson lands with an uppercut that bounces Murth off the cage and back into rage.
Murth keeps the fight on the outside.

Murth clinches.
A short right from McPherson on the inside.
McPherson lands a shot to the body.
Murth lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McPherson gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Adam Murth has been cut.
Murth drops down looking for an ankle pick but McPherson pulls his leg out and moves away.
McPherson tests Murth's chin there with a solid looking shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Murth fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McPherson manages to avoid it.
A left lands for Murth.
Murth circles away from the clinch attempt.
McPherson fails with an attempt to clinch.
McPherson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Murth counters with a one-two to the body.
Murth misses with a two punch combination.
Murth walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

and McPherson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
McPherson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Murth swings for the body but McPherson moves out of range.
Murth throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and McPherson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Murth's guard now.

McPherson cracks Murth with a solid left hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McPherson works a leg free and moves into half guard.
McPherson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Murth is defending against the submission attempts here by McPherson.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McPherson wants to free his trapped foot but Murth is holding on for dear life with his legs.

McPherson is trying to control the action in half guard but Murth is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Murth is pressing down on McPherson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Murth working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McPherson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McPherson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
McPherson wants to pass the guard but Murth is keeping the position.
McPherson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McPherson passes Murth's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
McPherson is looking to advance position but Murth won't allow it.
McPherson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
McPherson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
McPherson tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Murth is rocked!
McPherson is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Murth is hurt! He's hurt bad - McPherson fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Murth from any more punishment! Congratulations to McPherson! Great finish!
