The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Spencer shows good takedown defense.

Spencer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Silva can't do much from the bottom here.
Silva is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Silva prevents Spencer from moving into mount.
Silva tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Spencer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Spencer is staying tight to Silva's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Spencer looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Silva reaches up to try and control the position but Spencer seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Silva rolls and tries to escape and now Spencer has his back!

Spencer is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Silva defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Silva turns into Spencer and is now in his guard.
Silva throws a strike but Spencer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Silva is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Spencer dives into side control.

Guster Spencer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
