Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Smart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smart misses with a two punch combination.
Mason avoids the body shot from Smart.
Mason closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Mason trying to control the action but Smart is working from the bottom. Smart regains half guard. Mason with the ground and pound but Smart uses the opportunity to regain guard. Mason tries to free his leg and advance position but Smart is retaining full guard. Mason would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Mason trying to control but Smart is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mason stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smart swivels though and keeps the full guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Smart is on top in guard.
Mason wants to sweep here but Smart controlling him for the moment. Smart tries to free his leg and advance position but Mason is retaining full guard. Smart looking to sit in guard and control but Mason gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smart wriggles free and stands up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smart looks to throw the jab but Mason is out of range. Smart misses with a wild combination.
Mason throws a right and a left that Smart avoids nicely. Mason shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Smart defends it nicely. Smart ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mason moves away. Smart dives in and grabs Mason's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mason pushes down on Smart's head and hops out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mason throws a head kick that misses. Mason is breathing heavily. Smart uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mason.
Smart shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mason counters with a nice double leg into guard. Smart looking to control.
Smart is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Smart has a closed guard, preventing Mason from standing up. Smart looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mason is one step ahead there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mason controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Smart pushes Mason off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Smart thuds a left hand into Mason's body. Smart takes the fight into the clinch. Mason prevents a takedown attempt there.
Jason Mason has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Smart. Smart landing knees to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jason Mason will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Smart tries for a takedown but Mason circles away easily and Mason counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Smart's guard now. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Smart has momentary wrist control but Mason slips an elbow through the middle. Mason wants to control from the top but Smart keeps moving. Smart preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Mason wants to stand but Smart has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mason gets to his feet - Smart follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smart moves into range and clinches up with Mason. Smart lands a nice elbow. Smart throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Mason blocks it with crossed arms. Mason takes a knee to the side of the body. Mason avoiding damage as Smart throws knees to the body.
Smart leaning his opponent against the cage. Smart prevents Mason from breaking the clinch. Smart is pushing Mason up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Smart working Mason over with knees to the body. Mason on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Smart obliges. Mason tries to pull guard but Smart holds him up against the cage and eventually Mason drops back down to his feet.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smart looking to throw knees to the head but Mason is blocking nicely.
Mason jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smart walks away with a smile on his face. Mason gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Mason throws a body kick that misses. Smart fails to land with a series of punches.

Jason Mason seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smart blocks a head kick by Mason.
Jason Mason is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Smart misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Smart dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mason. That did some damage! Smart scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Mason doesn't seem bothered though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smart tries to bum rush Mason with a series of wild strikes but Mason uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Smart clinches up against the cage. Smart's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Mason is pushing Smart up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Smart using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mason has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Smart tries to land a knee to the head but Mason blocks with his arms.
Mason breaks the clinch.
A swing and a miss from Mason. Smart moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Mason with a poor takedown and Smart counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Mason. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mason shoots in looking for a takedown. Smart tries to sprawl out of it but Mason keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smart manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Smart throws a leg kick but Mason moved away. Smart throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mason looks to land a combination but Smart avoids it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Mason dominated that second round. That's time! Mason's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Smart looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mason is fending him off so far but Smart persists. Nope, Mason circles away and we're back to standing. Smart is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Mason rather than just go for the knockout. Smart shoots in and bounces Mason off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Mason looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Mason keeping full guard, as Smart tries to pass. Mason seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Smart stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mason swivels though and keeps the full guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mason pulls Smart in to control the position. Mason looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Mason keeping full guard, as Smart tries to pass. Jason Mason overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Mason fails with the takedown. Smart throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Smart thows a body shot but no joy. Mason misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Smart tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mason was well out of range. Poor timing from Smart. Smart forces Mason back against the cage and clinches. Smart pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Smart closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mason to the mat! Mason manages to get full guard. Mason keeping moving, preventing Smart from controlling successfully. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Smart fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Mason checks it well. Mason throws the kick towards the body but Smart avoids it. Smart swings for the body but Mason moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Smart has Mason up against the cage in a clinch.

Smart looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Smart waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mason. Smart darts in and clinches Mason up against the cage. Smart connects with a nasty looking knee right to Mason's face.
Smart unloads a knee to the mid-section. Mason has Smart pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Smart manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Mason. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Smart throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Mason blocks it with crossed arms. Mason tries a knee to the head but Smart blocks it.
David Smart has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Smart lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Jason Mason is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mason throws an elbow but it misses.
