Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slava Vitruk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Slava Vitruk! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Jones.
It looks like Slava Vitruk has been cut. Jones clinches up against the ropes. Vitruk drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jones pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jones throws a body kick that misses. Vitruk shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Vitruk's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Good shot there by Jones. Jones lands with a right hand. Jones throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Vitruk looks gassed! Jones tests Vitruk's chin there with a solid looking shot. John Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vitruk closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away. John Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slava Vitruk. Jones lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Vitruk should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Jones scores with a nice head shot. Jones has Vitruk up against the ropes in a clinch.
Jones gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Vitruk keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Jones postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Vitruk to stand up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Jones shoots in and bounces Vitruk off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Vitruk preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jones with a flurry of punches that miss. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Jones throws a big right hand that misses. Jones gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Vitruk gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Jones takes a shot right to the bread basket. Jones closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Vitruk did well to prevent Jones getting side control. Jones drops an elbow to the side of Vitruk's head. Jones winds up and cracks Vitruk with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Vitruk is looking to control Jones's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vitruk avoid being mounted? Vitruk is not content to let Jones control the position. Jones thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vitruk's head. Jones stalling. Vitruk is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Jones sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Vitruk defending well though. Jones postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Vitruk to stand up. Vitruk looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Jones slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Vitruk gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jones stands up and waves to Vitruk to follow him. Jones lands a jab. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Vitruk gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jones moves into the clinch. Jones gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Jones stands up from guard. Let's bang! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Jones dominated that round. The cut man is working on Slava Vitruk's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Jones lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Vitruk tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center. Jones scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. The fighters circle momentarily. Jones darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Vitruk shoots and misses so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jones gets to his feet. Vitruk looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Vitruk walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Vitruk takes a jab right on the kisser.
Jones catches Vitruk with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Jones fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Jones fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Vitruk on the side of the head. Vitruk with a lazy takedown attempt and Jones cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jones scores with a hook to the body. Vitruk takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Jones stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vitruk, pushing him back against the ropes. Jones decides to pull guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vitruk stops Jones from standing up. Jones lands with a heel strike from the guard.
Vitruk trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vitruk won't allow Jones to get back to his feet. Jones keeping moving, preventing Vitruk from controlling successfully. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Vitruk sitting in guard here, content to control. Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vitruk can do to turn this around?
Slava Vitruk has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Vitruk takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Slava Vitruk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vitruk with a poor takedown and Jones counters with a one-two to the body. John Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slava Vitruk. Jones scores with a jab. Vitruk acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Jones shoots in and bounces Vitruk off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

Jones postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Vitruk utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vitruk works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Vitruk gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Vitruk sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard. Vitruk thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Vitruk works his way into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to control but Vitruk postures up. Jones is pushing Vitruk's head away, looking to escape. Vitruk manages to hold on to the position though. Jones trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Jones tries to improve position but can't. Jones wants to get back to his feet. Vitruk stands up and beckons Jones to his feet. Vitruk doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab. Vitruk scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vitruk trying to mount his opponent but Jones defends it. Jones is trying to stand back up but Vitruk is controlling him

Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Jones lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Vitruk fails with the takedown and Jones counters with a good, hard body kick but Vitruk shrugs it off. Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard. Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vitruk works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jones with a flurry of punches that miss. John Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jones trying to stand up but can't free himself from Vitruk's guard. Jones keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Vitruk's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vitruk is working an open guard so Jones takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Jones cracks Vitruk with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Jones scores with a hook. Jones listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Vitruk gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jones counters with a stiff right hand. Vitruk tries to sprawl but Jones drives through with a takedown into half guard. Vitruk looking for submissions off his back. Jones decides to stand and escape the position.

Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Vitruk sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Vitruk taking some punishment here, with Jones in his half guard. Jones is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Jones takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Jones stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vitruk was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard. John Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vitruk keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Slava Vitruk has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Jones trying to control but Vitruk is working from the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vitruk is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
And that's the end of the fight! John Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jones has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
