Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Death Row (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Royston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Row comes to the cage accompanied by Bring The Pain. Death Row has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Death Row! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Royston! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Row shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Royston but Royston pushes him off and we're back to square one. Row takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Royston gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Row tries to pull guard but Royston holds him up against the cage and eventually Row drops back down to his feet.
Row tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Death Row. That's going to take a lot out of him. Royston misses with a punch to the body.
Row drops down looking for an ankle pick but Royston pulls his leg out and moves away.
Royston with a hook. Row ducks under a wild hook from Royston. Row looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Royston is fending him off so far but Row persists. Nope, Royston circles away and we're back to standing. Royston doesn't manage to clinch there - Row circles away.
Royston looks to land a right hand but Row moved out of range. Royston misses with an uppercut. Royston moves into range and clinches up with Row. Royston is looking to break free of the clinch but Row has double underhooks. Row keeps control of Royston as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Royston lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Row backwards. Row has Royston pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Royston manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Row tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Royston just stands there and leans against the cage. Royston is looking to break free of the clinch but Row has double underhooks. Royston gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Row.

That's one minute gone in the round. Royston swings wildly with an uppercut but Row uses good head movement to avoid it. Royston wants to get back to striking at distance but Row won't allow it.

Row looking for a takedown. Royston throws a punch but it's blocked by Row. Royston is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Row tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Royston just stands there and leans against the cage. Royston is pressed up against the cage. Row has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Royston down to the mat. Royston avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Row throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Royston's waist but Royston gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Row off to one side. Row circles away from the clinch attempt.
Row throws a head kick that misses. Row closes the distance and clinches up with Royston, looking for a takedown. Row pushes Royston against the cage but Royston circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Row is breathing heavily. Row has a takedown stuffed. Royston forces Row back against the cage and clinches. Royston scores with a shoulder strike. Royston tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Royston stalling against the cage.

Row will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Royston drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Royston is working Row over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Row avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Row keeping moving, preventing Royston from controlling successfully. Row has a closed guard, preventing Royston from standing up. Royston scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Royston avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Row keeping full guard, as Royston tries to pass. Royston stands and steps away. Row gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Row doesn't succeed with the takedown and Royston counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Royston. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Royston throwing strikes but missing. Royston keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Row's head. Royston gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Row has his takedown stuffed and Royston counters by moving into the clinch.

Row has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Royston is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Royston manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Row throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Row staying out of range there. Royston moves into range and clinches up with Row. Row wants a takedown but no success here.
Royston lands a body shot. Royston is trying to break the clinch but Row has him pressed against the cage. Row is looking to break free of the clinch but Royston has double underhooks. Royston wants to break free but Row has control.

Row with a poor takedown and Royston moves into the clinch. Royston gets through Row's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Royston gets underhooks to prevent Row's takedown attempt.

Row thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Royston can do anything to dispel that myth. Row wants to control from the top but Royston keeps moving. Royston is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Row trying to control but Royston is working from the bottom. Royston throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Row wants to control from the top but Royston keeps moving.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Row has his takedown stuffed so Royston counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Row is looking for a triangle but Royston pushes his legs off easily.
Royston passes Row's left leg - he's now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Royston dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Row closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Row works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Row is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Royston is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Royston is looking to regain half guard here but Row keeps moving and retains side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Row gets to mount! Royston was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Royston is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Row working the ground and pound effectively.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Row working for a guillotine from mount but Royston is in no mood to give up. Row is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Royston can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Royston is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Row landing shots from mount. Royston is looking to improve his position but Row isn't that keen on the idea. Row landing punches. Royston wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Row.
Row is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Royston is surviving well by controlling Row's body position as best he can. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Row cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Royston bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Row looking to hit a scissor sweep but Royston is one step ahead there. Row wants to improve his position but instead Royston has moved into half guard.
Row has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Row regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Row lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Royston! Royston working to try and regain half guard.

A nice elbow there by Row. Royston manages to regain half guard. Good work. Royston wants to get back to his feet. Marcus Royston has got the better of the ground game so far. Royston has hold of Row's hands but Row slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Row is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Royston is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Death Row! Death Row retains his heavyweight title!
