Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luke Arentsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kook Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luke Arentsen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kook Connor!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connor is looking to clinch.
A combination from Connor does no damage.
Kook Connor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Arentsen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Connor can pounce on him.
Arentsen tries to clinch but Connor is having none of it.

Connor has closed the distance and engaged Arentsen in a clinch.
Connor stalling the fight.

Connor pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Connor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Connor throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Luke Arentsen has been cut.
Arentsen tries to clinch up but Connor circles away and keeps his distance.
Arentsen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Connor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Connor scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Arentsen is looking to clinch.
Connor blocks a jab.
Connor misses with a head kick.
Arentsen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Arentsen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Arentsen tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Connor darts in and clinches Arentsen up against the cage.
Connor makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Connor lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Arentsen misses with a knee strike.
Knees in the clinch landing for Connor.
Arentsen is breathing heavily.
Arentsen blocks an elbow strike from Connor.
Connor has Arentsen pushed against the cage.
Connor gets underhooks to prevent Arentsen's takedown attempt.
Connor is pushing Arentsen up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Connor manages to break the clinch.
Connor connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Connor thows a left - swing and a miss!
Connor lands a nice looking kick to the body. Arentsen takes a step back to recover.

Connor closes the distance and clinches.
Connor lands a knee to the body.
Connor connects with a nasty looking knee right to Arentsen's face.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Connor lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Arentsen or not.
Connor lands a knee to the head.
Connor content to slow the pace in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Connor digs a right hand into Arentsen's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Arentsen's gas tank.
Connor lands a nice elbow.
Connor landing knees to the head.

Connor pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kook Connor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Connor moves into the clinch.
Arentsen tries to pull guard but Connor holds him up against the cage and eventually Arentsen drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke Arentsen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Connor lands an elbow inside.
Arentsen takes a knee right on the jaw!
Connor lands a knee to the head.
Connor utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Connor is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Arentsen fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Connor connects with a knee to the head.
Arentsen tries to pull guard but Connor won't allow it.

Arentsen gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Connor wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Connor wants to improve his position but Arentsen is controlling well.
Connor is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Arentsen jumps into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Arentsen is working to tighten is grip on Connor's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Connor has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Arentsen is really squeezing tight and eventually Connor passes out! Arentsen breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Luke Arentsen!
