The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A lazy left from POPO finds it's target.
POPO scores with a jab. Coelho acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Coelho rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but POPO moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Coelho fails with an attempt to clinch.
Coelho throws a sloppy head kick and POPO moves out of range easily.
Coelho dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
POPO wants to clinch

POPO shoots in and drives through. Coelho sprawls well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

POPO tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Coelho just stands there and leans against the cage.
POPO has Coelho pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Coelho manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Coelho is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
POPO is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

POPO changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Coelho tries to avoid it but POPO manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Coelho to the ground. Coelho escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Coelho has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. POPO avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Coelho doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
POPO gets in close and instigates a clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Coelho breaks from the clinch.
POPO scores with a shot to the body.
POPO misses with a takedown attempt
and Coelho counters with a head kick. That will keep POPO thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Acelino POPO has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Horrible takedown by POPO or perhaps it was just good defense by Coelho which made him look bad.
