Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Standa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Standa has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Simon Standa has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Brandon Silva's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brandon Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Standa!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva slips a jab and a cross from Standa.
A looping hook to the body misses from Standa. Silva does a little dance to reset his feet.
Standa looks gassed!
Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Silva lands in his opponent's guard.
Silva will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Standa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Standa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Silva really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Silva is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Silva thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Brandon Silva.
Silva looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Silva works his way into side control.
Silva tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva controls the position.

Standa wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Silva is trying to get an arm triangle but Standa is defending well.

Silva's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Silva is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Standa to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Standa shrugs it off.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Silva moves to the back position.
Silva has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Standa's body.
Silva is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Standa with him. Standa is trying to defend but Silva has an arm under the chin now! Standa grimaces and is forced to tap out!
