Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matty Hews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Hatfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hews comes to the cage accompanied by animals. Hatfield is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Deliverance Theme. Matty Hews could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jim Hatfield's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matty Hews!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Hatfield!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hatfield lands with an uppercut that bounces Hews off the cage and back into rage.
It looks like Matty Hews has been cut.
Hews feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hews drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hatfield dives on top into guard.
Hews looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hatfield preventing the sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hews has a closed guard, preventing Hatfield from standing up.
Hews is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hatfield is aware though and is defending well.
Hews working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hatfield doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hatfield manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hews looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Hatfield trying to control but Hews is working from the bottom.
Hews has a closed guard, preventing Hatfield from standing up.
Hatfield stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hews swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hews on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hews tries to get out of the position.
Hews has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hatfield is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hews.
Hatfield wants to control but Hews is keeping him busy.
Hatfield has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hatfield throws a head kick but Hews moves out of range.
Hatfield lands a big head kick that sends Hews tumbling to the mat! Hatfield takes a step backwards and waves Hews back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Hews is rocked!
Jim Hatfield seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hatfield tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Oh Hews is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Whack! Hatfield lands a heavy head kick that drops Hews. The ref tackles Hatfield to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Hews was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Jim Hatfield!
