Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Page! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones misses with an uppercut. Page saw that one coming. Jones blocks a head kick by Page.
Page throws a head kick that misses. Jones closes this distance looking for a takedown but Page circles away. Jab by Jones.
It looks like Jimmy Page has been cut. Nice sprawl there from Page as Jones shoots in. Jones shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Page defends it nicely. Jones wants to get back to his feet. Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position. That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones cracks Page with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Page throws a head kick that misses. Jones misses with a straight left. Page throws a head kick that misses. Jones misses with a straight right. Page throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
Page thumps Jones with a low kick. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Page tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jones lands with a hook. Page tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones lands with a shot to the body. Jones lands a nice shot that snaps Page's head back.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Page as he avoids it easily. Jones scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Jones lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Page circles away quickly and effectively. A big left from Jones misses. Page takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Page misses with a body punch
and Jones counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Jones scores a takedown into full mount! BOOM! Jones connects with a massive shot to the dome!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to control but Page wriggling away. Jones looking to ground and pound but Page is blocking nicely. Jones wants to control the pace but Page is squirming around nicely. Jones postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Page looks a forlorn figure.
Jones prevents Page from getting the reversal. Jones jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Page is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Page and Jones has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Page manages to get back to half guard. Jones working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Jones not landing any meaningful shots this time. Jones throws a strike but Page avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Jones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Jones throws a strike but Page rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jones is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Page which made him look bad. Jones throws a jab but it's blocked by Page. Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jones makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Jones wants to control from the top but Page keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jones scores with a nice right hand.

Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jones wants to control from the top but Page keeps moving. Page is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jones, as that shot connected.
Jones cracks Page with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Page is still on wobbly legs! Can Jones finish him? Jones misses with a wild combination.
Jones looks for a takedown but Page sprawls well. Page seems to have recovered his senses. Jones throws a jab but it's blocked by Page. Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Page looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Jones with the ground and pound but Page regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Jones with the ground and pound but Page uses the opportunity to regain guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Page swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jones drops back, looking for a kneebar! Page looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Page looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Page!
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is pushing Page's head away, looking to escape. Page manages to hold on to the position though. Page decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jones to his feet. Jones takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Page turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Page lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Jones has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Jones and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Page takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Page stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Page wants it to stay on the feet. Jones on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Page. Page obviously looking to wear him down.

Jimmy Page is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Page misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Page's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Page duly obliges. Page takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jones scores with a decent looking hook. Page gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Jones lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Page throws a leg kick but Jones checks it. Page shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Marcus Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Page sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
