Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trevor Reese! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Knight! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reese shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Reese decides to stand and escape the position. Reese scores with a takedown into Knight's guard. Reese sitting in guard here, content to control. Reese trying to control the position from guard on top but Knight is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Reese pushes down on Knight's leg and manages to get into half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Knight is staying active underneath Reese, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Reese trying to pass the guard but Knight defending well. Reese landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Knight has hold of Reese's hands but Reese slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Reese is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Reese decides to stand and escape the position. Knight looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Reese scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Reese is working for a submission of some sort.
Knight is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Reese drops an elbow to the side of Knight's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reese passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Knight! Knight can't escape the position.
BOOM! Reese connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Reese has isolated one of Knight's arms. Knight looking to fight him off but Reese twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
