Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Grady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lukus Haas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grady comes to the cage accompanied by Them Bones by Alice in Chains. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Grady! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lukus Haas! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Joseph Jones and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grady thows a body shot but no joy. Haas will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Haas misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Paul Grady seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck for Haas with that takedown attempt. Paul Grady has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lukus Haas. Grady throws a right hand that Haas ducks under and follows up with a left that Haas also avoids with ease. Grady throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Grady lands a nice shot that snaps Haas's head back.
Grady throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Haas. Grady misses the jab. Grady fails to land with a series of punches.
Nice defenses there by Haas. Grady waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Haas. Grady connects with a crisp jab.
It looks like Lukus Haas has been cut. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Grady lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Haas has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Haas and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Haas closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Grady pushes Haas away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Haas gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Haas tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Grady is looking to regain half guard here but Haas keeps moving and retains side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Haas decides to stand up, so the ref orders Grady to his feet. Haas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Grady as he jumps to the side. Grady missing with a left hand there. Haas was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Grady fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Paul Grady is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. No joy there for Grady, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Haas scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Grady misses with a double jab
and Haas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Grady's guard now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Grady throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Haas slips nicely into half guard. Grady is breathing heavily. Grady landing small, sideways elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are battling for position here. Grady manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Haas tries to free his leg and advance position but Grady is retaining full guard. Grady keeping moving, preventing Haas from controlling successfully. Grady throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Haas drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Grady manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Haas has Grady in his guard. Grady stands and throws Haas's legs to the side, diving into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Grady scoring with punches from side control. Grady working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Haas on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Haas tries to bench press Grady off him but Grady keeps the position. Grady scoring with punches and elbows. Grady lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Haas down.
Grady grinds an elbow into Haas's temple. Haas sneaks back into half guard. Ground and pound from Grady. Haas trying to control here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Haas slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Haas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Grady's guard. Haas trying to control but Grady is working from the bottom. Haas drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Haas as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Grady screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Haas! Nice submission victory there!
