Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sire Kim Sloucher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damian Nitschke! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nitschke throws a right and a left that Sloucher avoids nicely. Sloucher closes the distance and clinches up with Nitschke, looking for a takedown. Sloucher pushes Nitschke against the cage but Nitschke circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Nitschke just misses with a punch to the body.
Nitschke is looking to clinch but Sloucher is avoiding it.
Nitschke closes the distance and pushes Sloucher back into the cage. Sloucher turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Nitschke is looking for a sweep. Sloucher controlling from side mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nitschke tries to get back to half guard but can't. Sloucher has control of an arm but Nitschke manages to advance to Sloucher's back! Sloucher trying to get back to his feet but Nitschke is in full control for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Nitschke struggling to keep hold of the position.
Sloucher manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position. Nitschke tries to clinch but Sloucher moves out of range. Sloucher avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Nitschke gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sloucher to score an easy takedown into full guard. Sloucher preventing the sweep. Nitschke keeping moving, preventing Sloucher from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Nitschke wants to control the position but Sloucher says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nitschke is looking to control Sloucher's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nitschke avoid being mounted? Nitschke wants to improve his position but Sloucher is controlling well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nitschke misses with some strikes from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sire Kim Sloucher dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Sloucher misses with a takedown attempt - Nitschke sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Nitschke is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Sloucher really is a fat lump. Nitschke gets a clinch. Nitschke trying to land knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nitschke is pressed up against the cage. Sloucher has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Nitschke down to the mat. Nitschke avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Good work by Sloucher as he checks the leg kick. Sloucher shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nitschke defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sire Kim Sloucher. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nitschke is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters circling - Nitschke throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Nitschke tries to close the distance and clinch but Sloucher swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nitschke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sloucher swats him away and circles back towards the center. Nitschke tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sloucher fails to land the takedown. Sire Kim Sloucher is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sloucher uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nitschke.
Nitschke closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nitschke lands in his opponent's guard. Nitschke throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sloucher works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Nitschke wants to control from the top but Sloucher keeps moving. Sloucher might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nitschke prevents Sloucher from getting back to his feet. Nitschke throwing strikes from guard but Sloucher blocks nicely. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Nitschke pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sloucher is keeping the position for now. Sloucher is looking to stand up but Nitschke isn't so interested in that idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Sloucher keeping moving, preventing Nitschke from controlling successfully.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Damian Nitschke hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Nitschke throws a looping overhand right but Sloucher ducks down to avoid it. Damian Nitschke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nitschke darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sloucher is staying active underneath Nitschke, who seems content to just control the action from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Damian Nitschke showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Nitschke throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Sloucher has his takedown stuffed and Nitschke counters with a two punch combo. Nitschke tries to clinch up but Sloucher circles away and keeps his distance. A looping hook to the body misses from Nitschke. Sloucher does a little dance to reset his feet. Nitschke is looking to clinch. Nitschke tries to clinch but Sloucher is having none of it. Nitschke loads up on a big right hand but Sloucher slips the punch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nitschke fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nitschke throws a body punch but Sloucher moves out of range. Nitschke tries to close the distance and clinch but Sloucher swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sloucher keeps the fight on the outside. Nitschke fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Sloucher checks it well. Nitschke wants to clinch up but Sloucher keeps it at a distance. Nitschke throws a body punch but Sloucher moves out of range. Nitschke tries to clinch up.

A head kick misses from Nitschke. Nitschke shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sloucher sprawls well. Sloucher wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nitschke gets slowly back to his feet. Nitschke takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sloucher defending well as Nitschke loads up on a big left hand. Nitschke throws a head kick that misses. Sloucher tries for a takedown but Nitschke circles away easily and Nitschke counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Nitschke is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Nitschke looking to sit in guard and control but Sloucher gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nitschke looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Sloucher puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Nitschke tries to get to full guard but Sloucher has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nitschke moves into full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Damian Nitschke comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Nitschke has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
