Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Ballinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miyamoto Usagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ballinger comes to the cage accompanied by A Scottish Soldier by Andy Stewart. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Ballinger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Miyamoto Usagi!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Usagi has managed to clinch.
Usagi drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ballinger gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Ballinger looking to throw knees to the head but Usagi is blocking nicely.
Ballinger throws an elbow but it misses.
Ballinger lands a nice shot to the body.
Ballinger tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Ballinger is pressed up against the cage. Usagi has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ballinger down to the mat. Ballinger avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Usagi fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ballinger, pushing him back against the cage.
Usagi avoids the elbow strike from Ballinger, against the cage.
Ballinger prevents a takedown attempt there.
Ryan Ballinger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Miyamoto Usagi.
Ballinger is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Usagi is defending well for now.
Ballinger misses with a body punch.
Ballinger wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Usagi has him pressed against the cage.
Usagi jumps into guard, dragging Ballinger to the mat.
Ballinger trying to control but Usagi is working from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Usagi is on top in guard.

Usagi won't allow Ballinger to sweep him here.
Usagi is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ballinger working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Usagi.
Usagi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Usagi wants to control from the top but Ballinger keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ballinger controls Usagi momentarily but Usagi frees himself.
Usagi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ballinger is keeping the position for now.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Usagi gets a takedown into half guard.
Usagi is looking for a kimura here.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Usagi prevents Ballinger from improving his position.
Ballinger regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Usagi.
Ballinger wants to sweep but no luck.
Usagi drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ballinger dives on top into guard.
Ballinger has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Usagi to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Ballinger is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Usagi pulls down on the head and he's put Ballinger to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Miyamoto Usagi!
