Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Daytona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matheus Dutra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randy Daytona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matheus Dutra!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daytona drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dutra tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Daytona lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Dutra down.
Dutra is looking to regain half guard here but Daytona keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Daytona in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Dutra wants to control but Daytona postures up.

Daytona tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Daytona has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Daytona is looking to take a break and control but Dutra is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Dutra is trying to get back to half guard.
Dutra takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Daytona looks up at the clock and then as Dutra takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Daytona smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Daytona has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
You can see the frustration on Dutra's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Dutra gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Daytona is pressing down on Dutra's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dutra is holding on for now.
Dutra is trying to control but can't.
Dutra tries to get to full guard but Daytona has control of the leg.
Dutra is staying active underneath Daytona, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Daytona is nestled in close to Dutra, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Daytona is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Daytona looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dutra is looking for a sweep. Daytona is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dutra on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Dutra regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Daytona.
Daytona pushing down on Dutra's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Dutra wants to sweep but Daytona has passed to side control!

Daytona tries to move to mount but Dutra blocks the move with his legs.

Daytona thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Daytona is breathing heavily.
Dutra is trying to get back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Dutra tries to bench press Daytona off him but Daytona keeps the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dutra is trying to control Daytona's posture but Daytona avoids it.
Daytona cracks Dutra with a big right hand but Dutra just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Daytona tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dutra misses with a takedown attempt

and Daytona decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dutra's guard.
Daytona missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Dutra is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Daytona thows a big elbow that misses.

Dutra is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Daytona defends well.

Daytona is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dutra can do to turn this around?

Dutra is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dutra has a hand on Daytona's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Daytona takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Daytona lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Daytona lands with some strikes.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Daytona is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Dutra can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Dutra tries to improve his position but Daytona has taken his back! Daytona has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Dutra tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Daytona pushes Dutra away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
