Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rolles Rubio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Renato Barral!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Barral.
Rubio stuffs the takedown attempt from Barral. Barral gets slowly back to his feet.
Rubio shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Barral counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Rubio is trying to get back to full guard.

Barral seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rubio does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Barral wants to control but Rubio is keeping him busy.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Barral prevents Rubio from improving his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Renato Barral was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Barral counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rubio!
Rubio tries to reverse the position but Barral maintains control.
Rubio wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Barral keeps control of the position as Rubio tries to break free.
Rubio is working hard here to advance position.

Rubio is in bad spot here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

I would not like to be Rubio right now.
Rubio wants to escape the position.
Rubio manages to reverse the position and now he's in Barral's guard. Nice work there by Rubio.
Barral seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Renato Barral hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Rubio has his takedown stuffed

and Barral moves into the clinch.

Rubio is breathing heavily.
Barral is trying to control but can't.

Barral is defending against the submission attempts here by Rubio.

Rubio is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Barral sees it coming and defends easily.
Barral is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rubio's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rubio's back!

Rubio is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Barral defends well.
Barral is stalling in the full guard.

Barral got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rubio has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Barral has managed to get both his arms back between Rubio's legs - danger averted.

Rubio is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Barral frees his head nicely. Oh but Rubio has switched to an armbar! Barral is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
