Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gar Diu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Diu coming out on top.
Emelianenko lands a jab.
Diu misses with an uppercut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Emelianenko. Diu does a little dance to reset his feet.
Emelianenko looks to land a left hand but Diu moved out of range nicely.
Diu drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Diu swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Some bone on bone action there as Emelianenko checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Emelianenko feints and as Diu raises his hands in defense, Emelianenko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Emelianenko wants to pass the guard but Diu is keeping the position.

Emelianenko is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Diu will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Emelianenko works to advance to full mount. Diu defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
