Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Phillip McGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Preston Driver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Driver's choice of entrance music: Candy Paint. This should be a great matchup!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Preston Driver!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Driver throws a jab when McGee was well out of range.
Sloppy strikes from Driver. Those never looked like landing.
McGee lands a body shot.
McGee lands the left hand.
McGee throws a big shot that misses.
Driver walks into a stiff left hand from McGee.
An inside leg kick lands from Driver.
McGee lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Good standup being displayed there by McGee as he connects with a hook.
Driver looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

McGee shoots for a takedown but Driver saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Driver fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McGee manages to avoid it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Driver looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McGee is fending him off so far but Driver persists. Nope, McGee circles away and we're back to standing.

Good leg kick by McGee there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

McGee bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Driver's head backwards.
McGee cracks Driver with an open hand slap.
Driver's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Driver duly obliges.
A looping hook to the body misses from McGee. Driver does a little dance to reset his feet.
Driver takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
McGee throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Driver sees it coming and avoids it easily.
McGee blocks a head kick by Driver.

Driver throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
McGee thows a body shot but no joy.
Driver doesn't succeed with the takedown

and McGee counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Driver!

That was a close round but I would say that Phillip McGee will probably get the nod.

Driver will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McGee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Driver keeps working.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for McGee, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
