Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Shinji Nishimura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Belisle! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A solid body kick from Belisle. Belisle throws a sloppy head kick and Nishimura moves out of range easily. Nishimura has a takedown stuffed. Nishimura fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A head kick misses from Belisle. Nishimura looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Belisle! Belisle is working to get back to half guard.
Nishimura jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle

Belisle is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Belisle and Nishimura has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Belisle pushes Nishimura away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Nishimura gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belisle is trying to improve his position. Nishimura tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Belisle tries to get back to half guard but can't. Belisle is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Nishimura asserts his dominance and retains side control. Belisle is trying to control Nishimura's posture but Nishimura avoids it. Nishimura wants to lay and pray for a moment but Belisle keeps working. Nishimura tries for a kimura but Belisle is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Belisle is looking for a sweep. Belisle sneaks back into half guard. Belisle is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nishimura's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nishimura's back! Belisle trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Nishimura is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Belisle cracks Nishimura with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Nishimura from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Belisle really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Nishimura. Nishimura is in bad spot here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nishimura holding both Belisle 's hands and preventing any damage. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Belisle's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Belisle gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes. Belisle lands a shot to the body. Belisle looking for the RNC. Belisle is landing with strikes from the back.

Belisle is trying to control but Nishimura is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Nishimura is desperately trying to improve his position but Belisle has a good base and remains in mount. Belisle can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nishimura is looking to escape. Belisle looking to finish Nishimura with some ground and pound. This is bad for Nishimura! This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Belisle avoids the attempt from Nishimura to control. And thats the end of the round the fighters go back to their corners.

Belisle gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Belisle looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nishimura is one step ahead there. Nishimura looking to pass the guard. Nishimura thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Nishimura wants to control from the top but Belisle keeps moving. Nishimura wants to pass the guard but Belisle is keeping the position. Belisle pushes Nishimura off and scrambles back to his feet.

Nishimura scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Nishimura prevents Belisle from standing back up.
Belisle is not content to let Nishimura control the position. Nishimura is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Belisle is staying active underneath Nishimura, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Nishimura is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Belisle has managed to free his arm - good work. Belisle manages to get to full guard.

Nishimura drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Belisle manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nishimura has Belisle in his guard. Belisle gets to his feet. Nishimura looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Belisle misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Belisle shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Nishimura is trying to defend but Belisle finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Belisle wants to stand up but Nishimura is controlling the position.
Nishimura has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Belisle is working away from the top position though. Nishimura tries to roll over but Belisle keeps him under control. Nishimura tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Belisle manages to move to mount!

Steve Belisle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Belisle tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nishimura shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Belisle napping and manages to drive through into side control! Nishimura throws a strike aimed at the side of Belisle's head but Belisle avoids it well. Nishimura has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Nishimura attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Nishimura tries to close the distance and clinch up but Belisle swats him away and circles back towards the center. Nishimura closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Belisle struggling a bit here. Belisle tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nishimura wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Nishimura thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belisle is looking for a sweep. Belisle is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Nishimura's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Belisle slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Belisle looking for a sweep. Not yet Belisle, not yet. Nishimura drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Belisle manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nishimura has Belisle in his guard. Belisle stops Nishimura from standing up. Belisle with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Belisle slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Nishimura pushes Belisle away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Belisle gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Belisle wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nishimura, who protects the arm well. Belisle decides to stand back up. Belisle steps back and let's Nishimura get back to his feet. Belisle throws a head kick that misses. Nishimura shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Belisle decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nishimura's guard. Belisle takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Belisle stops Nishimura from standing up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Belisle sitting in guard, not really doing much. Shinji Nishimura has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Belisle passes Nishimura's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Belisle seems to be looking for submissions.
Nishimura is looking to control Belisle's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nishimura avoid being mounted? Belisle not landing any meaningful shots this time. Nishimura actively working from the bottom here. Belisle stalling away here and it's allowed Nishimura to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Nishimura keeping full guard, as Belisle tries to pass.
And that's the end of the fight! Steve Belisle comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Belisle has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
