Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Manning (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DeShaun Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manning comes to the cage accompanied by Black and Yellow. On his way into the cage it seems that Marcus Manning has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Marcus Manning seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Manning! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, DeShaun Johnson! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Manning fails with a takedown attempt. Johnson looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Manning swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Manning shoots in for a double leg but Johnson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Johnson lands with a nice combination. Manning backs away looking to recover. Manning tries a head kick but it misses.
Johnson shoots in and bounces Manning off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Manning looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Johnson won't allow Manning to sweep him here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Manning trying to control the position.
Johnson preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Manning has a closed guard, preventing Johnson from standing up. Manning trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Manning wants to stand but Johnson is controlling the position. Johnson stopping the sweep attempt from Manning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Johnson keeps the fight on the outside. Manning has taken the fight to the clinch.
Manning is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Johnson pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcus Manning. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Manning jumps guard and drags Johnson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Manning is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Manning is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Manning pulls Johnson in close to prevent any damage. Johnson postures up.
Manning wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Johnson manages to pass to side control. Manning makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Manning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Johnson throws a strike but Manning rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Manning gets to his feet - Johnson follows without any prompting. No joy there for Manning, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Johnson tries for a takedown but Manning circles away easily and Manning counters with a three punch combo that has Johnson backing up. Johnson nods at Manning to acknowledge the strikes. Manning throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Marcus Manning will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Manning is defended easily by Johnson. Johnson darts in trying to clinch and Manning counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Manning closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Manning pushes Johnson against the cage but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Manning lands a front kick. Manning closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Manning breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A head kick misses from Manning. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Manning throws a left and a right that both miss
and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Johnson not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Manning slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Johnson lying in Manning's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Manning decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Johnson taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
