Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Darsley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Omar Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thomas Darsley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Omar Jackson! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Darsley shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jackson's guard. Jackson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Darsley pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jackson is keeping the position for now. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Darsley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Darsley trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jackson is pulling down on Darsley's head. It's preventing any offense from Darsley, at least for the moment. Jackson trying to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Darsley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jackson fails with the takedown and Darsley counters with a shoot takedown. Jackson fights it but they end up in guard. Darsley sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jackson's guard. Darsley is breathing heavily. Jackson manages to get to full guard.
Jackson is trying to control the position but Darsley postures up. Darsley won't allow Jackson to sweep him here. Jackson seems keen to control Darsley's posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Darsley looking to pass the guard. Jackson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Darsley is aware though and is defending well. Darsley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jackson has his foot on Darsley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Darsley works his way back into a safe position though. Darsley decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jackson, up you get! Darsley scores a takedown into full mount! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Darsley trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Darsley pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Jackson is trying desperately to improve position. BOOM! Darsley connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Darsley sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Jackson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Jackson is looking to get to half guard. Darsley content just to control the position here. Jackson is trying to get back to his feet but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thomas Darsley dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Jackson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Darsley throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Darsley misses with a takedown and Jackson counters with a head kick. That will keep Darsley thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Jackson moves into the clinch. Jackson drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jackson is pressed up against the cage. Darsley has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jackson down to the mat. Jackson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Jackson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jackson showed some decent athleticism there. Jackson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Darsley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Jackson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Darsley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jackson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Darsley! Jackson looking to ground and pound but Darsley is blocking nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Jackson looking to control and managing it successfully. Jackson trying to control but Darsley is having none of it. Jackson punching from mount but Darsley doing a good job of avoiding damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson trying to control but Darsley is having none of it. Darsley on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Darsley tries to get out of the position. Jackson won't let Darsley get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Darsley is squirming around, avoiding Jackson's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jackson cracks Darsley with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jackson scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Darsley?
Poor strikes thrown by Jackson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Jackson lands a heavy elbow. Jackson looking to control but Darsley is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Omar Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Darsley shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jackson tries to clinch and Darsley counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Omar Jackson. Jackson tries for a takedown but Darsley circles away easily and Darsley counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jackson! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Darsley lands a big elbow. Darsley misses with a head shot. Darsley lands a big shot there that rocks Jackson but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Jackson is bucking up trying to escape but Darsley cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Jackson is desperately trying to improve his position but Darsley has a good base and remains in mount. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Darsley can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jackson is looking to escape. Darsley content just to control the position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Darsley pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Darsley lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jackson hang on? Jackson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Darsley pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Darsley unloading with bombs! Darsley lands a heavy elbow. Jackson has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Darsley's lack of action.
Darsley is pressing down on Jackson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jackson is holding on for now. Darsley is just content to waste time from the top position. Jackson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Darsley trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Jackson pulls Darsley in close to prevent any damage. Darsley is looking to work some ground and pound but Jackson has wrist control. Jackson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Jackson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Jackson wants to stand but Darsley is controlling the position.

Thomas Darsley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Darsley won't allow Jackson to get back to his feet. Darsley won't allow Jackson to sweep him here. Darsley postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jackson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Darsley, into his guard. Jackson trying to control the position from guard on top but Darsley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that's the end of the fight! Thomas Darsley showed his dominance in that final round. I think Darsley has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
