Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Prachuap Prasoetram! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Young! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Prasoetram throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Prasoetram tries to clinch up. Young drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Young slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Young drops back looking for a leg! Prasoetram is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Prasoetram manages to kick Young off! Young jumps back into Prasoetram's guard. Young tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Prasoetram is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Young asserts his dominance and retains side control. Young looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Young working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Young wants to control but Prasoetram is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Prasoetram tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Young wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Young trying to control the action but Prasoetram is working from the bottom. Young wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Prasoetram, who protects the arm well. That's four minutes gone in the round. Young has knee on belly and moves into mount. Prasoetram defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Young. Young is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Prasoetram can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Young with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Prasoetram is looking to land body kicks. Prasoetram misses with a body shot.

You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Prasoetram throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Prasoetram tries to clinch up but Young circles away and keeps his distance. Prasoetram wants to clinch. Young looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Young seems to be looking for submissions.
Young is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Prasoetram is just riding it out for now. Young eventually gives up the hold. Prasoetram is refusing to be controlled, as Young sits in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Young is looking for a kimura but Prasoetram is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Young to get the leverage. Young seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Prasoetram does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Young stops Prasoetram from getting back to his feet.
Young takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Young moves nicely into side control. Prasoetram wants to get back to his feet but Young drags him back down. Prasoetram is being controlled here. Young is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Prasoetram looks calm but he's in trouble here. Young gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Prasoetram is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Young lets go of the hold and Prasoetram can pop his arm back in it's socket.
