Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Batista! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Gallo! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gallo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Batista. A swing and a miss from Batista. Gallo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Batista tries to avoid it but Gallo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Batista to the ground. Batista escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Batista throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Batista fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gallo manages to avoid it. A punch combination from Batista misses. Gallo goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Batista takes a head kick and keeps coming.
It looks like Dave Batista has been cut. Gallo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Dave Batista has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Gallo. Gallo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Batista connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Ryan Gallo has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Batista scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Batista missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Gallo is controlling Batista's trapped leg to prevent Batista from advancing to side control. Gallo has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Batista is working away from the top position though. Batista trying to pass the guard but Gallo defending well. Batista thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gallo's head. Gallo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Batista. Batista thumps the canvas. Gallo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Batista throws and elbow that misses. Gallo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Batista's guard. Nice move by Gallo! Batista is looking to sweep but instead, Gallo has passed into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gallo content to control rather than advance. Batista has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gallo is working away from the top position though. Batista might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Batista punching from the bottom.
Batista is looking to improve his position.
Gallo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Batista defends it well. Batista knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gallo on the ground. Batista throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Batista is looking for a sweep. Gallo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gallo is working for a submission of some sort.

Batista wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Gallo keeps control of the position as Batista tries to break free.
