Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stefan Schilt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Afra Sr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Afra Sr is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Afra Sr! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sr is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Schilt's half guard. Sr is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Schilt defends it well. Schilt could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Sr is figuring out what he wants to do next. Schilt slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Schilt is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Schilt is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Schilt gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Schilt landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Schilt prevents Sr from improving his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sr scores with a few weak punches. Schilt looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Sr is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Schilt pulls his head out easily. Still in half guard, Schilt seems content to control. Schilt is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Sr looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Sr looks gassed!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Schilt has his takedown stuffed and Sr counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sr. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sr in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Schilt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sr's guard. Schilt drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Schilt jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Schilt stands up from Sr's guard - Schilt perhaps looking for a knockout. Schilt shoots in and drives through. Sr sprawls well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schilt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Sr has his foot on Schilt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Schilt works his way back into a safe position though. Sr will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sr is squirming around, avoiding Schilt's attempts to control the action. Schilt won't let Sr get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stefan Schilt dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

That's going to take a lot out of Afra Sr.

Stefan Schilt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Schilt tries to hold on but Sr pushes him away. Sr lands a nice shot to the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sr looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Schilt is trying desperately to improve position. Sr trying to control but Schilt is having none of it. Poor strikes thrown by Sr there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sr avoids the attempt from Schilt to control. Sr punching from mount but Schilt doing a good job of avoiding damage. Schilt is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Schilt tries to get back to half guard but can't. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sr is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Schilt has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Schilt! Schilt scoring with some ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Afra Sr will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

The ref calls for Sr to stand up. Schilt doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sr decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Schilt's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sr postures up in Schilt's guard and throws a big left but Schilt blocks it. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Schilt holds on and takes a little breather. Sr postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Schilt is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sr has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Schilt is working away from the top position though. Schilt lands strikes from half guard. Schilt not doing much here.

Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sr. Sr tries to get back to half guard but can't. Sr has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
