Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Araujo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ray looks to score with a jab to the body but Araujo is just out of range. Araujo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ray manages to avoid it. Ray throws a leg kick that misses. Ray just misses with a punch to the body.
Araujo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Araujo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Araujo misses with a head kick.
Ray slips a jab from Araujo. An inside leg kick lands from Araujo. Araujo misses with a head kick.
A punch combination from Araujo misses. A big left from Araujo misses. Araujo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Araujo scores with a one two! Ray had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Ray shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Araujo defends it nicely. Ray misses with a body shot
and Araujo counters with a series of strikes. Ray will be more careful next time no doubt. Araujo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Araujo throws a head kick that misses. Jab by Ray. Araujo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ray. A big right from Ray misses. Araujo pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Araujo gets caught flat footed, as Ray shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ray missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ray is looking to work some ground and pound but Araujo has wrist control. Araujo is breathing heavily. Ray won't allow Araujo to get back to his feet. Araujo tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ray trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ray working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Araujo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Araujo has momentary wrist control but Ray slips an elbow through the middle.

Ray postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A close round but Frankie Ray will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Araujo misses with a shot to the body and Ray counters with a lovely shot to the body. Ray lands an overhand right. Ray tests Araujo's chin there with a solid looking shot. Ray connects with the punch. Araujo thows a leg kick but Ray checks it and Ray counters with an outside leg kick.
Araujo scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Ray moves out of range of the leg kick from Araujo. Ray getting the better of the striking in that exchange. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Araujo falls off balance throwing a combination
and Araujo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Ray lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ray fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Araujo avoids the body shot from Ray.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ray throws a right and a left that Araujo avoids nicely. Araujo on the wrong end of a nice jab. Ray tests Araujo's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Araujo is rocked! Ray defending well as Araujo loads up on a big left hand. Ray scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Ray connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Ray throws a body kick that misses. Ray scores with a hook to the body. Araujo takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Araujo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rickson Araujo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ray fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Araujo misses the body punch and Ray counters with a thumping low kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A chopping leg kick lands by Ray. Rickson Araujo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Ray. Araujo does a little dance to reset his feet. Ray cracks a nice hook into Araujo's ribs. Ray closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Ray takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Ray working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Ray scoring with strikes to the body and head. Ray content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Ray looks to land a strike but Araujo avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Ray is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ray trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ray trying to control but Araujo is working from the bottom. Ray working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ray trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Ray postures up in Araujo's guard and throws a big left but Araujo blocks it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ray's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Ray wants to control from the top but Araujo keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frankie Ray showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Ray throws a quick inside leg kick. Araujo does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Ray misses with an uppercut. Araujo saw that one coming. Ray throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Ray looks to throw the jab but Araujo is out of range. Ray shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ray was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Both fighters are breathing heavily. A nice elbow there by Ray.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Ray. Araujo is looking to improve his position but Ray isn't that keen on the idea. Ray raining down hammerfists from mount. Araujo tries to reverse the position but Ray maintains control. Frankie Ray has got the better of the ground game so far. Ray punching from mount but Araujo doing a good job of avoiding damage. Araujo is in a horrible position here. Ray smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ray trying to control but he's not successful this time. Araujo taking shots to the head. Ray lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Araujo hang on? Araujo avoids a series of strikes thrown by Ray.
Ray has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ray has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Araujo's face.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ray with the ground and pound from mount. Oh Araujo is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ray postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Araujo badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Ray around the waist but Ray pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Ray is the winner by TKO! Ray jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frankie Ray!
