The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zorin has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Bird.

Zorin is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bird gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Bird turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bird manages to end up in side control.

Bird is looking to take a break and control but Zorin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Bird wants to hold on but Zorin pushes him away.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Zorin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bird, who protects the arm well.
Zorin tries to move into full mount but can't pass Bird's legs.
