The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pizdon throws a leg kick which misses Carpenter's front leg but catches the back leg as Carpenter tries to avoid it.
Nice sprawl there from Pizdon as Carpenter shoots in.

Carpenter tries to score a body lock takedown but Pizdon shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Carpenter wants to take a breather but Pizdon is having none of it.

Carpenter is looking to take a break and control but Pizdon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Carpenter is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pizdon is just riding it out for now. Carpenter eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Carpenter is pressing down on Pizdon's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pizdon is holding on for now.
