Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fanis Bartko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Poco Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bartko comes to the cage accompanied by Marpo - Muay Thai. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fanis Bartko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Poco Brown!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Bartko or perhaps it was just good defense by Brown which made him look bad.
Brown looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Bartko shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Bartko is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Bartko stops Brown from getting back to his feet.
Bartko is trying to control. Brown wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Bartko is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Bartko wants to control but Brown is keeping him busy.
Bartko is taking a breather. Brown says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Brown wants to get back to his feet.

Fanis Bartko has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Bartko shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brown but Brown pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Brown slaps away a takedown attempt from Bartko, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fanis Bartko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bartko shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Brown as he jumps to the side.
Bartko leaves Brown with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Bartko shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Brown's guard.
Bartko tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard.

Bartko thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Brown has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Bartko off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Bartko has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Bartko tries to free his leg and advance position but Brown is retaining full guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brown pushes Bartko off looking to stand but Bartko dives back in and keeps control.

Bartko seems to be working for a kimura but Brown defends the submission attempt.
Brown looks like he's trying to stand up.
Brown keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Bartko wants to stand up but Brown manages to regain full guard.
Bartko won't allow Brown to get back to his feet.

Brown working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bartko doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bartko manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Brown is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bartko is aware though and is defending well.

We're going to have a standup here because Fanis Bartko wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Bartko shoots in and drives through. Brown sprawls well.

and Bartko counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Brown's guard now.

Bartko displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Brown throws out the jab.
Bartko fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bartko is looking to clinch but Brown is avoiding it.
Brown throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bartko misses with a takedown
and Brown counters with a thumping low kick.

Bartko shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bartko showed some decent athleticism there.

Bartko is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bartko is trying to control the action in half guard but Brown is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brown wants to control but Bartko is keeping busy.
Bartko throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bartko seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brown does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Fanis Bartko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bartko is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Brown is just riding it out for now. Bartko eventually gives up the hold.
Brown is controlling Bartko's position as best he can from this difficult position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Fanis Bartko just wasn't active enough.
Bartko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brown pinned against the cage. Brown gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Bartko takes one on the button.

Brown scores with a one two! Bartko had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Bartko closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Brown to the mat! Brown manages to get full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bartko looking for a sweep. Not yet Bartko, not yet.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Brown throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Bartko counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Bartko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brown has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bartko has managed to get both his arms back between Brown's legs - danger averted.
Brown is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Bartko has gone for a leg lock! Brown slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bartko's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bartko not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Bartko lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Bartko drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bartko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Brown wriggles free and stands up.
Bartko closes the distance and clinches up with Brown, looking for a takedown. Bartko pushes Brown against the cage but Brown circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Brown throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Bartko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bartko trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Bartko stands and throws Brown's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Brown wants to get back to his feet.
Bartko is looking to take a break and control but Brown is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bartko working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Brown is not content to let Bartko control the position.

Bartko swings around for an armbar but Brown sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Bartko's guard.

Brown gets to his feet - Bartko follows without any prompting.
Bartko fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Brown avoids it really well and circles away.
Brown throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Bartko counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bartko.

Poco Brown has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Brown is looking for a triangle but Bartko pushes his legs off easily.

Bartko drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Brown manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bartko has Brown in his guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brown lands a couple of digs.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fanis Bartko showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bartko, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
