The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Scalante's corner calls for a 1-2. Scalante obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Scalante misses the target.
Nice straight punches there by Scalante. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Scalante.
Rogers shoots in but Scalante avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Scalante lands with a nice body punch.
Scalante scores with a sloppy right hand. Rogers should have avoided that one.
Scalante lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Scalante jabs at Rogers's body.
Rogers looks for a takedown but Scalante sprawls well.
Scalante jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Horrible takedown by Rogers or perhaps it was just good defense by Scalante which made him look bad.
Rocky Scalante has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Rogers.
Rogers shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Scalante pinned against the cage. Scalante gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rocky Scalante is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Scalante wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Rogers misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Nice takedown defense from Scalante. No joy for Rogers on that attempt.

A jab from Scalante finds it's way through Rogers's defenses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Scalante is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Scalante moves into range and connects with a jab.
Scalante thuds his right hand into Rogers's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Rogers shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Scalante as he jumps to the side.

Scalante connects with a body shot.
Scalante lands with a shot to the body.

Scalante scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Eric Rogers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Scalante scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Scalante smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Scalante is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Scalante catches Rogers with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Rogers is rocked!
Scalante works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Rogers is still on wobbly legs! Can Scalante finish him?
Scalante cracks Rogers on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Rogers falls backwards against the cage. Scalante follows up with more strikes that drop Rogers to his knees. Scalante keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Rogers! This one is all over!
